Welcome to Katakudu Women's Housing Inc.
Katakudu Women’s Housing Inc. began in December 1985 as part of the Women’s Supported Housing Program that was established by the NSW Housing Commission (now Housing NSW) in 1985. The Program was designed to provide medium term supported accommodation to women with or without children who were homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Katakudu is a small organisation that supports women, with or without accompanying children, a high percentage of who are escaping domestic violence and have other support issues. Katakudu supports women and their children by providing a safe environment and appropriate support, depending on their individual needs. This is done within a case management and strengths based framework implemented through one on one support meetings, a living skills program delivered through weekly group work, advocacy and referral when required.
